Coffee Table

Black Walnut & Steel

I’ve been itching to use steel in a project for a while now, and this project finally gave me the chance. I used hot-rolled steel for the legs, black walnut for the tabletop, and brass bowties for a little character and honestly to try something new.

Got this piece of wood from Carlton’s Rare Woods and Veneers in Atlanta. I’ve found that shop to be the absolute best, ran by an extremely knowledgable, helpful, and kind guy.

I learned a bunch on this project, like definitely don’t use quarter-inch thick steel for a project this size… let’s just say it’s on the heavy side… I seem to run into that issue a lot haha. Anyways, this was a cool build and as tough as it was to work with, I’m excited to incorporate steel into more projects in the future and learn from my mistakes.

Hope you enjoy!
